In November 1977 I started my career with Pittsylvania County Community Action, Inc. (PCCA, Inc.) with the agency’s newly developed Head Start Program where I served for 8 years in the capacity as Van Driver for the students, Classroom Aide, and Custodian until around March 1985 when I transferred to the agency’s Weatherization Assistance Program.
Upon entering into the Weatherization Program, I was initially a crew member and driver until about March or April of 1990 when, due to a need to restructure the program, I was selected as the Weatherization Coordinator and eventually transitioned to the Director of Housing where I currently serve and manage and oversee six programs along with Agency Administrative duties.
My tenure with PCA, Inc. has been very gratifying, rewarding, and interesting in and with my ability to serve the community and citizens of our service region that find themselves in positions of need that they’re not able or equipped to provide the means to do so.
